Oh nahin guru jo ghalan dasse rab da daras karaave na;
Gursikhi te bhashan deve par gursikh banaave na. Horan nun updesh kari jaaye te khud amal kamaave na; Horan nun taan mattan deve apna ghar vasaave na. Eh betuke moorakh bande janam janam dukh pande ne; Kahe avtar churasi andar murh murh dhakke khande ne. |

He is not the True Master, who prescribes rigorous religious practices but does not reveal God;
Who delivers discourses on discipleship, but does not make one a true disciple; Who preaches others, but does not practice himself; Who counsels others, but himself does not go in for a household. Such irrational and unwise persons suffer pain and misery during one life after another; Avtar says, they suffer through the cycle of birth and death again and again. |
Meaning
One who doesn't attain God knowledge go through the cycle of births and deaths repeatedly. He is not a True Master, who prescribes rigorous religious practises without revealing God; Who makes a speech on discipleship but does not make one a true disciple, Who preaches to other but not practise himself, Who provides directions to others however does not set up his own household. Such illogical and foolish persons undergo pain and suffering life after life.
